Meet Laura Burnham, M.A., CCC-SLP, TSSLD
Laura is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with over seven years of full-time experience supporting children ages 1–5 in their communication, play, and early learning. She is based in Greenpoint Brooklyn and serves families across NYC with compassionate, evidence-based care.
With a Bachelor’s from the University of Vermont and a Master’s from St. John’s University, Laura combines deep clinical knowledge with advanced training in:
DIR Floortime® (play-based, developmental therapy)
PROMPT® (tactile-kinesthetic speech cueing)
Oral Placement Therapy (Talk Tools®)
Early Reading Skills (The Reading SLP®)
She’s certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds New York licensure as both an Speech-Language Pathologist and a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).
Laura believes strong relationships are at the heart of meaningful progress. Her sessions weave together speech and language goals with play, movement, and sensory support for a "whole-child" approach. Parents are always part of the process.
Now in private practice, Laura brings warmth, professionalism, and developmental insight to every session. She lives in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with her husband and loves serving families in the community she calls home.
